About the Artist
Artist Statement
My work is often called imaginative realism, a combination of realism, impressionism and fantasy, drawing each into scenes touched by mysticism and romance. Every subject carries an inner beauty: a quiet balance of courage and grace that asks to be looked at slowly.
Nature is the source. Water, alpine silence, and the flowers that bloom each year on my land, teach me colour, light, peace and stillness. The animals I have lived and worked with - and the predators that move at the edges of the same land - bring their own presence into the paintings.
Working in acrylic, oil, watercolour, and pen and ink, I choose whichever medium best carries the vision. What I hope remains is a sense of enchantment: beauty that feels remembered rather than invented, and a door left slightly open into a world that is both wild and tender.
