To start this painting I pictured an older wise soul with two younger happy energy beings. The younger ones like a teenager and a 30 something, moving forward in life, but happy where they are, with all three connected.

When I went out to feed my horses one morning , one of my horses (Tennessee Gypsy) looked at me with her big intelligent eyes, perfect for the painting that was starting to form in my mind. Saffy, my white Polish Arabian was dancing along behind her. Several sketches later I had most of the design worked out.

And the rest of the poem for the distant unicorns:

The music starts the songs are sung

The cheerful dance of the very young

A rounded belly a coat of white

New life to bring to the magic night

Unicorns dancing magically

Bringing peace and harmony

Welcome to my world where unicorns are real and the news is all about the good people. Think I'll just stay here for awhile.

This is one of two paintings that I hope to apply to be in a juried show, the deadline is the end of this month. It's a realism show so my chances are not that good, but here's hoping.
